Oscillation III subscriptions available now

Three Lobed Recordings is excited to announce the new "Oscillation III" CD subscription series. "Oscillation III" consists of nine CDs by nine different artists (in alphabetical order - Bardo Pond, the Bark Haze, Tom Carter, GHQ, Howlin' Rain, the Magik Markers, the Michael Flower Band, Lee Ranaldo and Jack Rose) to be released over the course of 2008. The discs are only available through Three Lobed as a complete set. Subscribers also will receive an accompanying CD by Vanishing Voice at no additional cost with their subscription. Each CD is at least 25 minutes long (or longer in most cases) and features new, exclusive material from that particular artist. Similar to Three Lobed's CD series ("Purposeful Availment" and "Modern Containment"), there will also be a hand silk-screened slipcase to house the series. The slipcase for "Oscillation III" will feature new artwork from Robert Beatty of Hair Police.

As for availability, only a strictly limited number of 550 sets will be available from Three Lobed Recordings. The cost per set is $80 postpaid for domestic sales ($86 postpaid for shipping to Canada and Mexico and $92 postpaid for shipping to all other locations).

Sonic Youth, initially comprising of guitarist / vocalists Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, guitarist / bassist / vocalist Kim Gordon and drummer Richard Edson, were formed in New York City in 1981. A product of the No-Wave music scene of the late 1970s, the group had their roots in abrasive, experimental music, with Moore and Ranaldo having previously worked with the experimental composer Glenn Branca. The band were joined in 1985 by drummer Steve Shelley, and have now recorded 14 albums together, as well as many side and solo projects. Their work has been consistently challenging and innovative, and they are widely regarded as one of the most intriguing and influential bands of their time.
